Features of the Breast Clinic include:

  • Biopsies, including cyst aspiration, fine needle aspiration and core needle biopsies, will be performed on the day of consultation with a provisional result given to the patient in person.
  • Results will be reviewed by a multi-disciplinary team of experts, including breast care physicians, radiologists, radiographers, sonographers and nurses.
  • The Breast Clinic will utilise state-of-the-art equipment such as 3D mammography (tomosynthesis) and the latest ultrasound technology.
  • The Breast Clinic can facilitate referral for on-site MRI service, and expedite referrals for ongoing treatment, if required, to the specialist of the GP’s and patient’s choice.
  • Reports and images from the Breast Clinic can easily be accessed via the hyperlink in your electronic report with one click, or via www.imedonlineqld.com.au.

For patients undergoing breast surgery, the Breast Clinic can perform pre-operative localisation of the area required under ultrasound or tomographic control, allowing for greater precision.
